Lottery anybody?

I was just sitting back, watching the show “The Lottery Changed My Life.” Watching this show made me think… What would I do if I won the lottery? Bills would obviously be paid off and a few items would be bought. But what about the rest? What would you do if you won the lottery?

Disappearance of money

Did u ever notice that you never seem to have money when u want it? I just came to the realization that humans can never have what they what they want when they want it. Money is what makes the world go round but wouldn’t it be so much better without it? Life is strange that way…

Entering a new world

So with the beginning of a new era, we have come upon the dreaded summer. What will this summer entail for you? For me it involves being a mountaineer again. I will be teaching ecology to 6 different sessions of Scouts this summer. Fun. My last summer before seminary and I choose to teach others. That says a lot about my nature. What are some of your plans?

Here we go again

Have you ever noticed how the graduate isn’t always the one that is excited? I believe graduation is more for the family than it ever will be for the graduate.

Think Big Thoughts

I heard these words today and they made me do just that… Think Big Thoughts… We all need to take this into consideration every day. If we let ourselves become obsessed with the little things, when will our minds have time to go to the big ideas? I know I’m sometimes guilty of thinking about the little things and putting aside the big ones but we must all make a point to free our mind.

Do you ever wonder what the big thoughts are? Maybe for you it is what color I should wear this day or what should I order for lunch. To others those questions are about as insignificant as possible. I personally believe there are not any small ideas unless you allow yourself to be taken over by said ideas. I know that life is all about what if and what may be. If you focus on that though, you become drowned in those ideas. You must only look at each day and see what you must do to complete this day. So what are big thoughts?

Are they the name of your child? The path you must take on life? I believe you are the one who sets this idea up and must let it flourish. You must be the one who determines what is right in your way of life. Don’t let anyone tell you what is right and wrong when it comes to your thoughts. Realize, however, that you must know when an item has lost all its value and is pulling you into a quagmire.

Think Big Thoughts!

Hello world!

I decided this was going to be necessary eventually. With all of the strange and awkward things that have happened throughout my years at a college in the middle of nowhere and the years to come, maybe some of my experiences can help you get a laugh or two along the way. At least back in West Virginia, the life was easy. It was relaxed. Further South, it is hectic and cumbersome. Maybe that is what life is about.

Fighting through this quagmire of life, we slowly find that it was worth it. Not the normalcy, not the strange things we do. Life is all about the path that we take. Without these strange roadblocks thrown before us, sometimes we may be getting off too easy. “We work hard for what we have.” I was always told that. Until this past week I don’t think I truly understood that.

Graduation is just around the corner. What will you do with your life now? Will you become a useful member of society? Will you flip burgers? Will you live off of welfare? These are what we all think of at some point. Maybe now is the time to revisit these thoughts. You are graduating soon. Wether it be from High School, College, or Graduate School, you need to make this decision. I don’t think 75% of people graduating actually know what the hell they are doing.

I know when I first graduated from High School I didn’t know what I was going to do. Up to a month before I graduated College, I didn’t know what I wanted to do. Now, I see the path before me, laid out not by the Divine Being, but through my own hardship. I know the end result because of the Divine, not because a path was set before me. I fought, bleed, and cried to get this path going. Now I must take the first step. Are you ready?
